for August of 831, for September of 385, for October

of 413c These are assimilated with local population

aa ia common in times of political diaturbances at

Canton.

Refugeen proper are Chinese of Cantonene

origin mostly from Japan and Shanghad. Tungwah Hospital

at present cares for 538 of these and has since 30th

August cared for total of 4,850. Numbere are limited

by accommodation available and question of opening

camp for homeless is now under consideration but

of

chronic pauper conditiono South China population

makes the problem difficult.
